Summer Salt Body was born ten years ago, during a memorable trip to Bondi with my sister, Emma. Inspired by the ocean’s natural beauty, I dreamt of creating all-natural, vegan-friendly salt scrubs. It was Emma who came up with the name "Summer Salt," and I loved it instantly! When we returned home, I started experimenting with different formulations, mixing up salt scrubs in our kitchen until I found the perfect blend. I even googled an anchor image to create a logo, printed stickers using a basic word document, and built a simple website that still had "wix.com" in the domain. It was a humble beginning, driven more by passion than business, with weekends spent selling at local craft markets while I worked full-time during the week. To my surprise, word spread, and soon customers from around the world were ordering my scrubs. I’d flatten the packaging as much as possible to send them as “letters” and save on shipping costs. Emma, ever the creative, later designed a new logo, and we couldn’t help but laugh at the early anchor design. Her support was invaluable in rebranding everything. Our big break came when a large pharmacy group in Queensland wanted to stock our scrubs in 15 stores. That was the moment I realized that maybe this could be more than just a side project—it could be my full-time passion. Balancing a day job while working on scrubs into the late hours was unsustainable, so I took a leap of faith and left my full-time job to fully commit to Summer Salt. It was a daunting yet exhilarating decision, and I've never looked back. As the business grew, it took over my mum’s house, filled with packaging materials and everything needed to keep things running. That’s when I decided it was time to move into our first factory—a dream come true. The excitement of having our own space to create was incredible! With a small team in place, I had the freedom to focus on growing the business. Since then, we’ve upgraded our factory three times, expanded our product range, and continuously improved our packaging and processes. Over the past decade, we’ve had the honor of serving more than 15,000 customers and processing over 250,000 orders. We’ve collaborated with large companies like Cotton On, been featured on The Block, and partnered with over 1,000 boutiques, gift stores, health food shops, surf shops, and pharmacies worldwide.
